Directions to Whitsbury Manor Stables (SP6 3QQ)
From the M3/M27:
- Leave M3 at Junction 13 and join M27 West - get in the LH lanes and follow directions for Southampton Docks/Bournemouth/M27 West (RH lanes will take you on M27 East)
- Leave the M27 at Junction 1 signposted Cadnam, Brook and Lyndhurst.
- At the roundabout take the exit to Fordingbridge on the B3078.
- After about 2 miles, just past the The Bell Inn on your right, the road forks off the main road to the left – take this road signposted Fordingbridge and Godshill.
- Stay on this road for about 8 miles over the top of the New Forest and you will arrive in Fordingbridge via Godshill.
- Into Fordingbridge, go over the bridge (River Avon) and at first mini roundabout immediately afterwards, take 2nd or right exit.
- Go over the zebra crossing and just past the Post Office on your left, take the first left turn into ‘Green Lane’. (If you miss Green Lane, take either of the next two left turns and turn right at the end of the street)
- Stay on this road (Whitsbury Road) for about four miles and you will come into the village of Whitsbury.
- Pass the Cartwheel pub on your right, 400 yards further on your left are a white house, red brick walls and large gateway of Majors Farm - the older horse yard and trainer’s house is based here. Entrance is either via the left turn before Majors Farmhouse or the main entrance to the yard through the large double gates from the main road.
- For the Manor Yard where most of the 2yo’s are based, continue for another 800 yards. Go past the sign for Whitsbury Stud/Church, leave the road immediately at the left hand bend and head straight into the "training stables" through the white railings. The office and car park is signed to the right
From the A303
- On the A303 heading towards Exeter go past Stonehenge.
- Turn off A303 at A36 junction towards Wilton and Salisbury.
- Take a right turn for Wilton.
- At the second roundabout you come to turn left for Salisbury.
- First traffic lights turn right for Racecourse.
- On left hand bend turn right for Racecourse.
- Keep the Racecourse on your left hand side.
- Follow signs for Stratford Tony.
- Bottom of the hill at T Junction turn left for Coombe Bissett.
- Next T Junction turn right through Coombe Bissett on to Salisbury/Blandford road (A354) Continue up hill and turn/bear left for Rockbourne.
- As you come into Rockbourne there is a small bridge on the left hand side sign posted Whitsbury. Turn left over the bridge towards Whitsbury.
- Go up the hill round the bend to the right into Whitsbury. You will go past a row of houses and the farm on your left hand side.
- Carry on this road and you will go round a bend to the left. You will have a paddock on the left which has white railings. Turn into the left (signed Training Stables) for the (MANOR YARD) which houses the two year olds. There is a car park and signs to OFFICE
- Follow the road round the bend to the right, down the hill, round another bend to the right and you will come to the older horse yard on your right hand side with big double gates. If you go past Izzi and Ralph’s white house which is attached to the yard there is a drive just past the house on your right hand side. If you go in here you can park your car and meet Ralph in the Majors Yard.
If coming through Salisbury
Take Blandford road (A354) out of Salisbury and go through Coombe Bissett and turn/bear left to Rockbourne (as above)
